Leaders in chromatographic separation
Analytical Chromatography
Chromatography is the backbone of Fenton Woods. With our arsenal of Agilent HPLC (high performance liquid chromatograph), Agilent GC (gas chromatography), Agilent CE (capillary electrophoresis) systems, and team of PhD analytical scientists, no separation is too complex. Fenton Woods has varied chromatographic experience, developing complex, large-format separations for pesticides, to chiral separations for bioanalysis, and plasma fractionation for proteomics and glycomics studies. In addition to analytical separations, Fenton Woods can support semi-preparative and preparative separations for scale-up and manufacturing needs. Our commitment to Agilent Technologies
Fenton Woods chooses to use Agilent Technologies as our preferred partner for analytical and semi-preparative chromatography. Starting with the 5890 GC and 1100 HPLC, Agilent has built a legacy of high-end chromatographic instrumentation, which have been selectively and carefully redefined into the current 8890 GC and 1290/1260 Infinity III platforms. Our company needs highly robust, sensitive, and high-performing chromatographic equipment, and Agilent has continually offered equipment that surpasses both our own and our customers’ expectations and demands. Most of our Agilent HPLCs and GCs are run 24/7 with only scheduled downtime for repair.
Fenton Woods owns and uses non-Agilent chromatographic equipment, including some Shimadzu LCs, Waters M-class microflow UHPLCs, and Thermo Vanquish Neo nano/micro UHPLCs. These exceptions are application-specific where there is no competitive solution from Agilent. With this said, at Fenton Woods, all of our routine separation tasks are performed using Agilent chromatographic equipment because the platform has surpassed all internal expectations and demands of any instrument vendor we’ve worked with.
